This collapsible list of commands for NickServ and Chanserv provides you with a detailed explanation of each command and an example for input.

If you are not sure about any commands or how to implement, please do not hesitate to ask for assistance in #Ascends.Net channel.

  • REGISTER
    • Registers your nickname in the Nickserv database.
    • Allows you to register your nickname with NickServ.
      Once your nickname is registered, you will be able to register channels and get access to other channels through ChanServ, and manage your nickname through NickServ;
    • The password you give is case sensitive. Passwords must be at least 5 characters in length and no more than 32
      characters in length.
    • NickServ will E-Mail you when you register.
You must follow the instructions in the E-Mail to
      complete registration of your nickname.
    • Example: /ns REGISTER PasSwORd your@email.com
  • IDENTIFY

    • Example:  /ns IDENTIFY NickName PasSWORd
  • INFO

a nickname is linked to another, it shares the host
nicknames access lists, passwords, memos, etc.
    • If both nicknames are registered, then they are merged.
The host nickname's information takes precedence for
any duplicate information. The nickname you specify is
      considered the host.
    • If the nickname you specify is registered, but your current
nickname is not, the specified nickname is the host.
